About
A real person, in Minneapolis.
Kaffee Werks Design and Automation is a one-person design and automation shop in Minneapolis, run by Nathan (Nate) Keil. Nathan builds websites for local shops and trades, plus AI phone agents, workflow automation and self-hosted systems, and every kind of system he sells is one he runs himself first. When you call, you talk to him.
Hands-on, on and off the keyboard.
Nathan is a builder. He runs a home-lab server with dozens of services on it, a self-hosted business phone system answered by AI agents, and the automation and database integrations that tie it all together. Most of what Kaffee Werks offers started as something he built to solve his own problem.
He's just as hands-on away from the keyboard: engine swaps and fabrication are how he spends a lot of his free time. He also works in the trades, on a small HVAC and handyman crew. That's where it became obvious how much a small shop loses to a website nobody can use on a phone, missed calls and lost leads, and how little of what's on the market is built for businesses that size.
Kaffee Werks is the result: websites and automation for local businesses, built by someone who knows what a shop's day looks like. The name is a nod to where good work starts, with a cup of coffee and a workshop.
How we work
What you can count on.
You own it
Accounts, data and configuration are in your name, with full documentation at handoff. No lock-in.
Humans in the loop
Automation handles the routine. Anything unusual, sensitive or high-stakes goes to a person.
Fail safe, not silent
Every system has a fallback, and failures alert someone instead of disappearing.
Honest scoping
If automation isn't worth it for your situation, you'll hear that in the free consult.
Privacy by default
We collect only what the job needs and can keep sensitive work on your own hardware.
Plain English
Updates, documentation and quotes you can read without a glossary.
Let's talk about your business.
The first conversation is free, and you'll be talking to Nate directly.
